Immediately stop accepting donations of cash or materials. On June 27th, 2014, the court handed down a stunning defeat for Caboodle Ranch. I’m not saying that PETA themselves might not be “out to get Caboodle” or any other animal rescue organizations but I’ve been scouring the net for any news that any wrongdoings on the side of the investigators or anyone involved might have a personal agenda against Craig Grant but have come out empty but dozens of news reports from multiple news organizations confirming the abuse/neglect.No wonder Caboodle Ranch has been so quiet! I think that Craig might have allowed himself to get overwhelmed by the 600+ cats that were in his compound… and if, as Caboodle’s blog states, it was just that one cat with eye problems that needed treatment, there would not be animals needing to be send all over the country for triage after the rescue. We’ve seen many many examples of this in the past and being an animal lover myself, it’s easy to want to rescue every soul out there. I think that Craig probably start and still does have good intentions and genuinely cares for the animals but there’s a fine line between animal rescue and animal hoarding. I liken it to “if you think that the whole world has gone insane, maybe you you take a step back to who’s the one that’s actually insane”. However, it seems like Caboodle Ranch’s response to this is that all these organizations are working in concert to bring them down for their own political agenda. I think that if all these societies going in together and saw that there was no clear cut signs of abuse/neglect, they would have just turned back and said “move along, nothing to see here”. Staff from the University of Florida (Gainesville) College of Veterinary Medicine and Maples Center for Forensic Medicine at UF. (Phoenix, Ariz.) RedRover (Sacramento, Calif.) and Sumter DART (Bushnell, Fla.). They basically went in together with the ASPCA, The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, The Madison County Animal Control Dept together with Atlanta Humane Society (Atlanta, Ga.) Bay Area Disaster Animal Response Team (Belleair Bluffs, Fla.) Cat Depot (Sarasota, Fla.) Florida State Animal Response Coalition (Bushnell, Fla.) Good Mews Animal Foundation (Marietta, Ga.) Humane Society of Broward County (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) International Fund for Animal Welfare (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center (Chattanooga, Tenn.) PetSmart Charities, Inc. However, PETA did not work this on their own. I think that if it had been just PETA that went in and did everything themselves, it would be easier to convince me that PETA had a personal agenda against Craig Grant. What else would we expect them to say, “yes we were hoarding the cats and couldn’t give them sufficient attention”? Of course not, it would be something in their own defense. But just because a couple of blog posts from Caboodle Rance telling another story does not really change my mind that there might have been some wrongdoings at Caboodle Ranch. I think that taking both sides of the story is definitely always a bad idea. Sometimes when people do not tell the truth, it makes it very difficult for us – who do we believe and who do we support? In times like these, I think the best is either to do more research into reliable sources of information, or to pray for the universe to act….fast. In the case of animal rescue work, when humans lie, the animals suffer ultimately, because a lie is an evil action of speech, and with each evil action, comes its repercussions….it is only a matter of time. If only humans would not lie, scheme and plot with their own selfish agendas and evil motives. IF ONLY humans would tell things AS IT IS. However, there is also the other side of the story, and just minutes ago, I received this: It was news from PETA, claiming that the cats on Caboodle Ranch were in a bad state.
